Starting Wednesday 1st of February 2017
LeFevre Rec Centre, 541 Victoria Rd, Osborne
The intake will run on every Wednesday night 7-9pm for 10 weeks (Final week: Wednesday 5th of April)
What can you expect?
We will teach you the basics of roller skating through to full contact, as well as the rules! The first half of the intake is about learning to skate – stopping, falling, basic agility, learning to skate with others. Then we have a mid-intake testing night. The second half of the intake gets into the fun stuff – hitting, receiving hits, giving & receiving assists. Basic rules. Then we finish with a final testing night.
What will you need to bring?
Mouthguard! Compulsory from day 1. No mouth guard, no skating! Skate shops like DaKlinic are the best place to get one suited to Roller Derby. Skate gear – quad skates, elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards, helmet! If you don’t have your own, then we have some available to hire. Only $5 for the night. Socks, water, all the things you would normally take to the gym.
What is the cost?
$10 for the session plus Insurance (costs to be advised).
In the meantime…
Get to some casual skate sessions at St Clair, Blackwood, Ingle Farm, Mt Barker, Gawler, Marion or Noarlunga to improve your skills. Also check out your local Skate Fit.
